Silos Córdoba participated in the Conference on Opportunities in the Eurasian Economic Union organized by Extenda on February 18.
The Eurasian Economic Union is a common market of 180 million people with dynamics of integration and expansion that makes it very appealing for Andalusian companies.
Russia, its main member, is a boiling country, which evolves every day, that little or nothing has to do with the insecurity and unpredictability environment from the past. Its economy is expected to expand between 1.5 and 1.8% year-on-year in 2019 and 2021.
Central Asia is a very unknown region to the business sector. However, this region, made up of five countries, with Kazakhstan leading the region, is a strategic point between Asia and Europe.
The conference has addressed how to enter this growing market successfully.
There are companies with a lot of experience in this market and others with great interest in discovering it.
One of the companies with great experience in the area is Silos Córdoba, which according to its Commercial Director, Pablo Fernández, entered this market in 2009-10.
“We entered this market in 2009-10 with a direct implementation in Kazakhstan through a local partner. We created our company there: Silo Córdoba Kazakhstan. The formula worked very well and today we have achieved a turnover of 60 million euros. The commercial team grew and today we also have a technical assembly team.
We also expanded to Russia, and the implementation formula was through commercial agents, covering almost the entire Russian region. The businesses there also go very well since it is one of the main cereal producers in the world.
Pablo Ferández also explains how they got to this situation, which was not only through the implementation formulas, but also through the trade policies and regimes offered by the area, as well as through digitalization.
“We made an important effort in digital marketing, which has brought us a great deal of business. Today, 40% of the business volume in this region comes through our website. ”
