The Mayor of Córdoba, Isabel Ambrosio – accompanied by the delegate of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment of the Andalusian Board in Córdoba, Manuel Carmona, and the provincial manager of the IDEA agency, Manuel Perez – visited the recently-established Silos Córdoba’s headquarters, located at Cordoba’s Science and Technology Park, Rabanales 21, and interviewed its CEO, Juan Lopez Regalón.
As reported by the Córdoba City Council, besides offering their full support to the company, the Mayor was interested in knowing the reasons that led the company move to the Science and Technology Park as well as the expected benefits of this new location.
Meanwhile, as reported by the Board, the delegate of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment, Manuel Carmona welcomed this shared visit with the Mayor, where “we have seen the technological modernization of this Cordovan company first-hand, a company that has chosen knowledge, innovation and internationalization as the key ingredients of its business strategy, being present in over 70 countries. ”
In his opinion, “this is the way we must go, looking for a new economic model of sustainable development”. He was also aware of the importance of this new Silos Córdoba project to strengthen the consolidation of the Technological and Science Park and its future aspirations.
During their visit, they toured the facilities and had the chance to know some of their particularities, such as the design of a type of highly innovative machine, which is a unique model in Europe, aimed at loading silos at ports; as well as the Research and Development Department directed by José Cabrera, who has been commissioned to devise and design a new type of heavy-duty closed conveyor for grain transportation able to operate 24 hours a day.

The new manufacturing visited by the Mayor and the Delegate of Economy is equipped with the most advanced machinery and equipment to meet the needs of most demanding customers worldwide.
With more than a hundred workers and a turnover above 44 million euros in 2015, Silos Córdoba is one of the companies with the highest international penetration of Córdoba, since more than 80 per cent of its production is destined for foreign markets.
